We have classes available for students from 3 years and up. The benefits of karate training are endless. Our classes offer you multiple training partners, high energy dynamics, and development of strong spirit. Perhaps the most important aspect is belonging to a group of like-minded individuals who support you and urge you to become the best versions of yourself.
Our classes focus on strong technique & form, the understanding of kata (forms) performance and bunkai oyo (application), physical fitness, mental focus, and strong self-defense skills.
We encourage and promote camaraderie and respect in all of our programs
My children are so happy to be doing Karate. Emma has a way of connecting with them and keeping their attention. They have grown in discipline and confidence and enjoy practicing their Kata at home so they can show Sensei how good they are. Definitely a good decision to send them to karate! They know that Monday and Wednesday are karate days and are collecting their star stickers for their achievements in class.
Thank you Emma for teaching them; they enjoy the new moves and are getting stronger and always want to show Sensei they have practiced. And they love their uniforms because it makes them look like ninjas!
I joined to lose a little weight and improve my flexibility..
3 years on and I have done a lot more than that. The community is amazing, the professionalism is beyond reproach and my experience has been 100% positive.
Thank you!
Seishin MAA is an exceptional Academy.
The dojo is beautifully equipped and led by a Sensei who is highly regarded and globally recognised as an outstanding instructor and Karate-Ka.
Classes are well structured and organised in such a way that each student gets enough personal attention at a level that's right for them, and students know that the harder they work, the more time and energy Sensei Emma will invest in them.
My knowledge of Karate has skyrocketed and my love for this art has been well nurtured at SMAA.
I've trained for over twenty years in multiple cities, styles, dojos and instructors. Sensei Emma is the real deal. She leads from the front, and gets the balance right for both younger karateka and older ones.
A definitive box checked is leading from the front - she actively practices, teaches and competes, and doesn't push belts or throw students into a meat grinder. Explanation, training, assessing, practical implementation and I think good instilling of the value of hard work, not just rote learning to get belts. Each grade is earned.
I'm enjoying whipping my old out-of-shape self into something better through each class, one inch at a time.

We teach a syllabus that is both progressive and demanding, basing its teaching around blocks, punches, strikes, kicks, locks and throws.
Tournament karate is a compliment aspect to your traditional karate.
These classes are aimed at our competitive students & high performance athletes who wish to increase and elevate their speed, accuracy, timing and efficiency of movement for local, regional, national and international karate competitions.
